Job Safety Guide

A job search can involve sharing important information. Use these checks before applying, sending documents or making a payment.

Check the original vacancy

Open the employer’s official careers page and confirm that the role is still available. Compare the job title, location, closing date and application channel with any reposted announcement.

Verify the employer and recruiter

Use contact details obtained independently from an official source. If a recruiter says it is licensed or authorized, check that claim with the relevant regulator or employer. A logo, social-media message or forwarded document is not enough.

Protect your information

Never share account passwords or one-time verification codes. Send identity documents only when needed through a verified application process. Do not send passport scans to this website’s editorial contact.

Understand payments and contracts

Investigate any fee before paying, request written terms and receipts, and confirm the recipient. Be cautious about urgent payments to personal accounts or guaranteed-job promises. Check the written role, wages, working hours and conditions before accepting an offer.

Check overseas work rules

Confirm visa and work-permit requirements through the destination country’s official authorities. A job advertisement does not authorize you to work or establish visa eligibility. Check whether overseas applicants are accepted.
